Day 5 - Blogging Series - Village Life

Have You ever been to a small village ?

I grew up and lived in a very small village and I still visit my place every now and then.In a fast paced world , filled with interactions that travel at the pace of a SpaceX rocket, sometimes it feels really good to enjoy a simple breeze surrounded by nature ,listening to birds singing and sipping coconut water.

But apart from this what else does village life ?
Is It possible for me to convince you to leave the comfort of city life to an isolated village which doesn't have great amenities but provides inner peace which most of us lack in this era . Let's see.

Let me share few of the village games which we played that can also be played at city grounds.
First one is "Kallah,Mannah" "Stone or Sand"
The games rules are simple.we will need at-least 3 players to play this game. One person is the catcher and the rest are the players. So,Once the catcher is fixed by putting "Saw,Boo,Three" and allotment for the  space of the game is done. The catcher is asked whether it is "kallah or Mannah" Once the catcher determines and gives an option say for example as kal ,the players need to stan in Man aka sand and each time the player stands in kal (i.e.) the ctacher can chase and catch the player as long as the player stands in Kal.

When large number  of players play this particular game , it becomes more fun ,what we say in tamil as " easy ah aatam kaatlam ".

I'll try to share the other games in the upcoming blogs with related images.Meanwhile, during the summer holidays , as soon as we get up we run to this tree which has a date alike fruit in it, the sparrows and birds would have eaten and dropped a few.The dropped ones taste in a wonderful way.

The next thing is that, pollution less  enviroment. In cities , we hear the constant buzz of vehicles moving and the noise they create as they move around and not to mention the gases they release out nd simultaneously, the dust that gets generated. But when you move to village, although the proliferationof vehicles has increased in the last couple of years , the vehicles will be related to farming and farm related products. You can hear the tractor sound and bullets rushing in the roads but still since the quantity are less , the magnitude of pollutants released is also less.

Now let's come to food cooking habits , Basically when we cook food in a city we rush in the process of cooking to make sure that we reach to our schools/colleges and offices on time but we fail to put efforts in cooking. But when it goes to village cooking itself is an art, apart from cyclinder being used to cook, we still do have the the stove like design which is created using mud for which wood is used as fuel and when we cook using it and utensils made of mud too, the time taken to cook would be comparatively more but the taste of the food ,will make us go crazy for it .

From Bullock Cart Rides to many more village oriented games keep the village lively and vibrant. If I were you who was born in a city with huge amount of wealth and always who had comfort at all stages , I would take a break and experience an amazing village life because village life is not only exciting , it changes the inner mindset of a person.

So ,what  are you waiting for ?
Start packing and experience a beautiful moment of your life by living in a village for a month,Who knows you might probably love that lifestyle and settle there for the rest of your lives.

With that being said,
Let's meet tomorrow with another amazing blog.
Don't forget to comment your thoughts and share this blog with your fellow friends.

Cheers.
Fredrick Xavier.

Day 4 - Blogging Series - Just a Minute Competition

It was during my early stages of my transition from being a village kid to becoming a city kiddo. I was so curios and wanted to try out new stuff. And that's when an opportunity knocked during the primary school days at Marians. I still remember the stage on which I stood, I know they said it was a competition and they called it as JAM. I thought it might be a Jam eating contest. And I was standing in line and to my surprise they said, it's not JAM eating. It's about Just a Minute competition. The game organizers said that they will give a particular topic and I need to talk about it for a minute and no time will be given for preparation and it had to be in English. I still was a bit dizzy at that point of time. But mustering a bit of courage and looking at others performing on stage, I felt I also can do it. And the topic for me was regarding sports. And regarding I said "Sports really helps kids to be so and so... Cricket is a wonderful sport. We use ball and bat....
