General updates for this week:

Google has expanded its messages feature through Maps and Search (i.e.) moving forward let’s say you search for Thirunelveli Halwa in the search and if the owner has registered the business via Google my Business and provided all the necessary details, the search results will show the business page. Along with that now with this messages integration set-up, the consumers can get more information regarding the availability of stocks and operational timeline (just to mention a few).

Google is planning to launch an application named “Shorts” where a user can record a 15-second video and up-to a length that the user wants. Google has also introduced a new feature for free users of Google Meet, currently, 49 people can be a part of Google meet call meanwhile 100 people for the Google Nest users.

Amazon has launched the Smart Store option which would allow a local shop to showcase a catalogue of its products, make transactions online and reduce paper usage (e-bills). Already thousands of shop owners have utilized the  Amazon pay option and with the Smart store option Amazon is trying to build a loyal customer base to the shop owners.

Using the Electricity cable lines (KSEB), Kerala is planning to provide fibre optic connectivity to almost 95% of the state through Kerala Fiber Optic Network project. E-governance is the focus at this point of time and this move of connecting people online will help that move to become a reality.

TRAI launches Channel selector app for DTH, Cable TV subscribers which would enable to look into which plan we are in right now and also modify the plans if needed. Currently, 8 operators are part of the application and more operators will come into play in the near future.
