Fredrick  Xavier here with the latest updates on Gadgets, Tech and few other things that you might be interested in...So Let's dive into them...

Qualcomm is working on a Snapdragon 690 Chipset that provides 5G services in smartphones ranging from 300$-500$ range. They are working along with HMD Global, Lenovo and Samsung for this implementation process. However, Qualcomm needs to understand that during Q1 of 2020, the majority of the devices that were sold were in the prices ranging from 100$ to 400$. Anyways for our readers, once 5G comes into play in India not only will we be able to access the devices at a comparatively lower cost but also enjoy high speeds at prices relatively equivalent to 4G.

Network operators like Jio,Bharti Airtel,Vodafone Idea ,BSNL and network vendors like Samsung,Ericcson,ZTE,Huawei and many more have applied to the DoT for conducting 5G trials meanwhile Jio has applied for 5G Lab Testing.

In a move to dominate the video conferencing world, Google has integrated Google Meet with Gmail and Gmail is the application that has enjoyed 5 Billion downloads so far and also all the android devices comes along with Gmail pre-installed within them.Hence almost all the devices will have access to Google Meet.
 
In the Auto-Industry, Great Wall Motors of China has signed an MoU with Maharastra and reaffirms plans to invest 1 Billion USD. They are also mentioning the Industrial plant to be heavily automated which means less of human labour. With this investment, they are planning to introduce two brands, Haval and GWM EV. The Electric vehicle brand will focus on Non - SUV type vehicles as there is another player MG Hector from the parent company SAIC doing well in the EV SUV space.

Bajaj has resumed it online bookings for its EV scooter Chetak and has resumed operation in the Pune, Maharastra facility. Currently, it serves two locations Bangalore and Maharastra and will move into other locations in the upcoming months. A delay in delivery of the vehicles is expected due to the COVID 19 situation.

The Uttar Pradesh Government has recently considered waiving off the road taxes 100% for 1 lakh electric two-wheelers and 75% for four-wheelers in order to promote the manufacturing of electronic vehicles.

In the Solar world, The Andhra Pradesh state has decided to create 10,000 MW of solar power via Green Energy Corporation and assures an uninterrupted 9-hour power to the farmers during the day-time.

General updates for this week: Google has expanded its messages feature through Maps and Search (i.e.) moving forward let’s say you search for Thirunelveli Halwa in the search and if the owner has registered the business via Google my Business and provided all the necessary details, the search results will show the business page. Along with that now with this messages integration set-up, the consumers can get more information regarding the availability of stocks and operational timeline (just to mention a few). Google is planning to launch an application named “Shorts” where a user can record a 15-second video and up-to a length that the user wants. Google has also introduced a new feature for free users of Google Meet, currently, 49 people can be a part of Google meet call meanwhile 100 people for the Google Nest users.
